Athletically I come from a competitive tennis background but have always been just a gym rat. I found CrossFit in 2011 while You Tubing new workouts for myself as I was fighting boredom at the regular gyms. I joined CrossFit Virtuosity Summer 2011 and developed from a regular 5:30 class guy to competing. I thoroughly enjoy the randomness and varying possibilities of testing my physical fitness with CrossFit and as a result have competed in CrossFit, Olympic Lifting and Strongman meets in the past couple years.

A graduate of the CrossFit Virtuosity Coaches program who enjoys helping people realize the athlete in themselves.

Learning about myself as an athlete and how the human body moves is something that always makes me strive to be a better coach. CrossFit is an outlet for me and my athletes to grow and learn from each other in an extremely positive community. I’m honored and excited to be a part of such a wide array of amazing people.

Favorite quote: When something gets hard, don’t quit, just put your head down and keep pushing

I came from a wrestling background and started CrossFit in 2011 at CrossFit Virtuosity as a way to help my wrestling training in High School.

February 2012 I became a part of “Steve’s Club”, a CrossFit program to help at risk youth by exposing us to proper coaching, facilities, mentors and peers. The Summer of 2012, I was asked to join the Assistant Coaching staff at CrossFit Virtuosity as a result of my passion and discipline.

In the past year I have competed successfully on a regional level at Olympic Lifting, winning several Tri-State meets as well as nationally, placing 9th in the nation at the 2014 USAW Junior National Championships this past February.

After ten years, I left my career as an attorney to pursue my passion: fitness! My interest steadily grew over the course of my own 95lb weight loss journey. As a certified health coach and personal trainer, I focus my work assisting adults with similar challenges that I faced, programming for marathoners while incorporating strength training and coaching KIDS! I run CrossFit Kids programs at CrossFit Virtuosity in Brooklyn and CrossFit Gantry in LIC and love it! CrossFit Kids provides an opportunity for children to create a lifelong love of fitness. I’ve seen first hand my young athletes develop into confident, self-assured, leaders through fitness. Don’t worry, I’m an accomplished athlete in my own right, completing three marathons, countless half marathons and triathlons and competing in various local CrossFit competitions. I am also the managing director of Steve’s Club NYC, a 501(c)(3) program bringing CrossFit to at-risk youth.

I grew up playing hockey & baseball but switched to swimming and water polo in high school. In college, I was four-year member of Babson College’s swim team. After college, I remained active by running, doing a traditional globo gym routine, and then got into boot camps. In 2010, I was introduced to CrossFit mainsite WODs by a friend and have been hooked ever since. I joined CrossFit Virtuosity in 2011 and entered the coaching program in 2012. My brother in-law and I had our own Affiliate in San Juan, PR during 2013 and 2014, ISLA CrossFit. In addition to teaching CrossFit, I trained a couple tri-athletes focusing on swim technique and endurance drills. I joined Prospect Heights coaching staff in 2015 after I came back to NYC. I hope to see you at Prospect Heights!
